Myanmar Day 6: Pindaya Caves & Shwe U Min (Golden Cave) Pagoda

We set off to the Pindaya Caves.
The Pindaya Caves are located next to the town of Pindaya in the Shan State. The caves are a pilgrimage site. There are actually three caves, but only the southern cave can be entered and explored.
How to get from Bagan to Pindaya: The Pindaya Caves is 189 miles (304km) from our set-off point in Bagan, so we leave at about 7.30am and begin the 8 hour drive by taxi. We had pre-arranged this with the reception at Bagan Thande Hotel yesterday morning. It is a long but scenic drive and worth the 8 hours. The roads are smooth and road conditions are good.
